The thesis concerns the use of the two-dimensional analytic signal, as proposed by S. Hahn, in the analysis of monochrome and colour images. The experiment consists in computing the local amplitudes and phases of input images belonging to three groups: simple greyscale patterns, real-world greyscale images and real-world colour images. The correctness of the implemented algorithm is assessed by comparing the original image with the image reconstructed from these components.
